Position Overview
We are in search of a seasoned Planning / Scheduling Engineer to contribute to the successful execution of a large-scale Data Center construction project spanning multiple locations. The professional will be tasked with the creation, upkeep, and control of project schedules, overseeing the workflow, conducting critical path analyses, and assisting with Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
Key Duties
- Develop and update comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Set up baseline programs for all project stages including design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Construct integrated master schedules incorporating several project sites and workflows.
- Recognize critical path tasks and monitor potential scheduling risks and opportunities.
- Generate forward-looking schedules for short, medium, and long terms.
- Track schedule adherence and devise recovery plans if delays occur.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure scheduling reflects actual site progress.
- Measure and track progress across project sites relative to established baselines.
- Engage in routine progress evaluations with construction, engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams.
- Produce weekly and monthly status reports addressing schedule adherence, milestones, key activities, and risks.
- Create dashboards and key performance indicator (KPI) reports for leadership and clients.
- Conduct earned value and productivity analyses as needed.
- Review schedule discrepancies and suggest corrective strategies.
- Perform analyses to assess delay impacts and critical paths.
- Prepare, support, and justify Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
- Assess delay claims from contractors and subcontractors.
- Keep detailed records to support entitlements and evaluations.
- Conduct forensic scheduling reviews and time impact analyses.
- Assist commercial and project management teams during claims negotiation and dispute resolutions.
- Serve as liaison between project managers, construction managers, design teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ensure coordination among procurement, construction sequencing, and commissioning schedules.
- Participate in project meetings offering scheduling expertise.
- Support senior project leadership in strategic planning and program optimization.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 5 to 10 years of professional experience in planning, scheduling, or project control roles within major construction projects.
- Must have verified experience working on Data Center projects.
- Experienced in assisting projects from pre-construction stages through to commissioning and final handover.
- Proficient in programme baselining, progress monitoring, critical path analyses, delay and recovery planning, and EOT preparation and evaluation.
- Background in handling multi-site or large mission-critical projects is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to international contractors, consultants, or data center operators is an advantage.
