Overview
This remote position is presented by a partner company operating in the United States, seeking a Pharmacy Concierge Support Technician committed to enhancing medication access and patient assistance. The role involves guiding patients through complex pharmacy solutions and alternative medication sourcing pathways while collaborating with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and internal teams to streamline affordability and remove barriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison among patients, providers, pharmacies, and internal pharmacy benefits teams to coordinate alternative medication sourcing solutions.
- Evaluate and confirm suitable sourcing options for medications that may be non-covered, costly, specialty-specific, or have limited distribution.
- Support activities such as cost comparisons, savings analysis, reporting, invoice management, and documentation related to pharmacy sourcing.
- Monitor patient cases, outcomes, preferences, and turnaround times using case management systems.
- Keep abreast of alternative pharmacy vendors, pricing structures, and available medication access programs.
- Follow up with pharmacies and providers to ensure accurate prescription processing and timely delivery.
- Assist patients in navigating medication access challenges, including sourcing and delivery processes.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, confidentiality policies, and patient privacy standards.
- Provide suggestions to enhance workflows, operational efficiency, and patient experience.
- Engage in team meetings, committees, and departmental initiatives as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or comparable professional experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or similar healthcare coordination role.
- Experience in pharmacy benefit management, specialty pharmacy, retail, or mail-order pharmacy settings.
- Knowledge of pharmacy benefit structures, prior authorization procedures, and third-party billing.
- Preferred experience helping patients with financial assistance programs, community resources, or specialty medication access solutions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, and healthcare stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks, solve problems effectively, and adhere to deadlines.
- Proficient in digital platforms such as electronic health records, pharmacy software, Excel, and customer relationship management systems.
- Ability to work autonomously with meticulous attention to detail.
