About the Role
Join a dedicated and friendly Invercargill team as a Pest Control Service Technician, where your primary focus will be on delivering expert pest management solutions to both residential and commercial customers across the Southland region. Your role will be varied and hands-on, requiring a customer-oriented approach combined with technical proficiency and a commitment to safety. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional requirements for overtime or out-of-hours work as business demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and equip your service vehicle each day based on scheduled assignments.
- Conduct thorough site inspections to identify pest issues and develop tailored recommendations.
- Provide on-site pest control treatments employing leading industry practices.
- Inform and advise customers about effective pest prevention measures and hygienic procedures.
- Create clear and precise service reports following each visit.
- Cultivate positive ongoing client relationships through approachable and expert service.
- Seek out ways to offer additional value to clients where opportunities arise.
Requirements
- Full legal right to undertake full-time employment in New Zealand.
- Clean and current New Zealand driver's licence.
- Previous experience in pest management (beneficial but not mandatory).
- Ability to communicate well and prioritize customer needs.
- Physically capable and committed to safety, including willingness to work at heights and in enclosed spaces.
- Highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to function autonomously.
- Competence with mobile technology and reporting applications.
- Willingness to travel for work, sometimes including overnight stays in the lower South Island.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- New Zealand Certificate in Urban Pest Control (Level 3).
- NZ Firearms Licence.
- Understanding of relevant pest management regulations.
- Certification for Working at Heights and operating Elevated Work Platforms (EWP).
- Manual driving experience.
