- Provide payroll software training and in-person client training, including guidance on relevant features and functions.
- Develop deep knowledge of client data such as turnover patterns, seasonal or ongoing headcount changes, time and attendance, payroll bridge building, import/export needs, prevailing wage requirements, job costing, certified payroll, and standard or custom reporting.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 5 years of payroll experience, ideally in a fast-moving, multi-client environment.
- Strong client-facing orientation with excellent service skills.
- Proven ability to improve processes and streamline workflows.
- Background as a bookkeeper or accountant is an advantage.
- Self-motivated and committed to driving success for business owners.
- Working knowledge of wage and hour laws and wage taxability.
- Exposure to workers’ compensation claims handling is beneficial.
- Clear communicator who can work effectively with people at all levels of an organization.
- Professional presentation and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and the ability to collaborate with limited supervision.
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word; experience with CRM tools, Citrix, and HRP software is a plus.
- Associate degree preferred; advanced degree is an added advantage.
- CPP or FPC certification is strongly preferred.
- Ability to spend about 10% of working time outside the office for local client visits and onsite training within 50 miles of the office.
