Role Overview
Join Gopuff as a Payroll Administrator where your primary responsibility will be ensuring that employees receive their payments punctually and fully comprehend their compensation details. You will be tasked with auditing and validating employee timekeeping records and managing deductions and withholdings in compliance with state and federal regulations. As an integral part of the People & Culture team, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and collaborate closely with accounting.
This hybrid role requires you to be onsite at the Philadelphia, PA office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during regular business hours.

Salary is competitive and adjusted for market conditions depending on location. The expected base salary range is $50,000 to $65,000 annually, with specific starting pay determined by relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. Furthermore, this position qualifies for a discretionary yearly cash bonus and participation in Gopuff’s equity incentive plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate employee time records, addressing discrepancies directly with employees
- Input payroll information into the company’s software and confirm accuracy before payment processing
- Update employee tax status and withholding information as necessary
- Initiate and manage employee direct deposit transactions
- Modify employee banking details to ensure proper payment processing
- Document and communicate any employee payroll concerns or queries to the HR manager
- Maintain compliant payroll policies and procedures aligned with current regulations
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with strong organizational capabilities
- Customer service mindset focused on supporting internal employees
- Capacity to work collaboratively across departments including payroll, HRIS, compensation, legal, and wider People Team
- Strong precision and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks
- Adaptability to fast-changing environments and conditions
- Intermediate or higher proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Minimum 0-2+ years experience with payroll processing, especially in high-volume settings
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline
- Knowledge of payroll tax jurisdictions across all US states
- Experience working with Workday software is highly preferred
