About Rocket Lab

Role Overview
Based in Toronto, Canada, this Operations Development Intern position involves supporting Lab Management and Supply Chain activities. Responsibilities include developing and documenting procedures and systems to maintain calibration and functionality of tools and equipment. Support will also be provided for the development, testing, and implementation of inventory management tools to assist with cycle counting, parts kitting, quarantine management, and ongoing production and new product release efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with mentors and department staff to apply and deepen technical and professional knowledge.
- Engage with a dynamic team to address practical challenges using industry best practices.
- Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with mentors and supervisors for progress updates and guidance.
- Attend technical presentations and network through social and professional activities.
Candidate Profile
We seek individuals who excel in uncertain environments and enjoy working within small, high-performing teams that value continuous learning and development. Success in this role will be demonstrated by your expertise, ability to independently manage development projects, and collaborative skills to achieve results across departments.
- Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations management, supply chain, business administration, or related engineering field, with at least one semester remaining post-internship.
- Academic GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Minimum of three months' experience in business operations, data analysis, facilities, or inventory management in a corporate setting.
- Availability to work full-time onsite in Toronto for a continuous 16-week period starting August 31, 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
- GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Six months or more experience in relevant corporate functions including business operations, data analysis, facilities or inventory management.
- Proficiency with Python programming.
- Experience in lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Background in facilities or equipment management.
- Data management and statistical analysis skills.
- Experience conducting inventory cycle counts.
- Understanding of 5S workplace organization principles.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma practices.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary of 52,000 CAD according to Ontario Pay Transparency Act requirements.
