NOC Officer

Role Overview

We are seeking a diligent Monitoring & Support Engineer to oversee infrastructure monitoring, incident management, and basic server and network operations. This role involves handling alerts, incident response, documentation upkeep, and timely communication of critical issues while supporting foundational server and Active Directory tasks.

Key Duties

• Oversee alerts from monitoring tools and take necessary corrective actions such as restarting nodes or filtering false positives.
• Address and resolve incidents adhering to defined SLA deadlines.
• Manage the full lifecycle of tickets including reassignment, resolution, and closure.
• Conduct routine checks on Windows servers including failover functionality, service statuses, and resource utilization.
• Assist with user and group management through Active Directory and Exchange.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures, tracking logs, and incident reports.
• Communicate significant incidents (Priority 1 and 2) promptly and clearly to relevant stakeholders.
• Use professional communication protocols by phone and email during escalation processes.

Required Expertise

• Fundamental knowledge of Windows server administration, networking concepts, and clustering mechanisms.
• Understanding of application monitoring methodologies and interpreting error codes.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong skills in documentation, maintaining composure under pressure, and making sound decisions.
• Capability to monitor Linux server health and address Linux-based alerts.
• Basic troubleshooting of Linux service failures and performance issues.
• Perform basic Linux administration using shell commands.
• Monitor cluster and failover status when applicable.
• Support patch verifications and routine server operational assessments.

Preferred Certifications

• CompTIA Server+ and Network+ certifications.
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
• ITIL Foundation.
