MEP Quality Inspector

Job Overview

This role centers on ensuring quality standards for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities at site level. The incumbent is tasked with inspecting incoming materials, verifying compliance with approved submittals, and managing quality documentation. Regular coordination with engineers, consultants, and project teams is essential to uphold quality benchmarks and address any nonconformities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough incoming material inspections to verify conformity with approved submittals and maintain records of compliance levels.
• Analyze, report, and document any nonconformities at the project site.
• Maintain and control documents, data, and records pertaining to quality inspections on-site.
• Verify inspection requests and carry out both pre- and post-inspections alongside engineers and consultants, following up rigorously on any outstanding consultant comments to ensure closure.
• Halt work activities immediately if there are no approved drawings or mockup approvals in place.
• Confirm that all inbound materials meet the standards specified in approved submittals.
• Prior to consultant visits, perform quality compliance checks and ensure pre-inspection checklists are properly completed and signed by supervisors, engineers, or QA engineers.
• Regularly inspect site activities in collaboration with consultants and communicate findings during weekly coordination meetings.
• Work closely with project engineers to resolve non-conforming work and log follow-up actions and statuses.
• Perform routine site visits to verify acceptance criteria compliance, documenting results with photographs and detailed observations.
• Provide daily reports on site quality violations to QA Manager or General Manager, escalate customer complaints promptly, and monitor open Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) especially those outstanding for seven or more days.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 4 years and up to 7 years of relevant experience in MEP quality inspection roles.
• Proven expertise in pre-inspection of incoming materials and site works to ensure readiness for consultant inspection.
• Familiarity with evaluating work executed against approved method statements and enforcing compliance.
• Ability to conduct site induction and training to educate workers regarding project quality requirements.
• Skilled in handling NCRs issued by consultants and coordinating work at the site to maintain proper sequencing.
