Mechanical Engineer - Fabrication and Erection

Role Overview

This position involves overseeing fabrication and erection activities at industrial and mining project sites, ensuring adherence to technical drawings, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site fabrication and erection operations, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors, supervisors, and clients to streamline project execution.
• Review fabrication design documents and assess material needs for projects.
• Oversee cutting, welding, fitting, and assembly processes, ensuring correct use of tools and equipment.
• Manage installation of structural components including steel frameworks, piping, tanks, and machinery, verifying precise alignment and measurements.
• Supervise lifting, rigging, and related rig operations safely and efficiently.
• Perform quality inspections on fabricated items, ensuring conformity with industry standards and client expectations.
• Monitor welding quality, non-destructive testing (NDT), and maintain required documentation.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures; conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Ensure all personnel use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety regulations.
• Develop work schedules, prepare progress reports, and coordinate procurement of necessary materials and equipment.
• Address technical issues and challenges that arise on-site promptly.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Diploma in Industrial Safety or Mechanical Engineering, or
• B.Tech or B.E. degree in any engineering specialization.
