Role Overview

We are seeking a Manual QA Engineer based in the United States to join our engineering team. The role entails ensuring the quality assurance of our mobile apps on both iOS and Android platforms as well as our web interfaces. This position emphasizes manual testing, with a preference for candidates interested in automation.

The role involves cooperating closely with development teams to verify new features, detect bugs, confirm fixes, and facilitate smooth deployments. Collaboration with engineering and product units is integral to uphold quality benchmarks prior to releases. The products span sports betting, daily fantasy sports (Pick'em), and mobile casino gaming (Arcade), offering diverse consumer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct manual testing for new functionalities on iOS and Android mobile applications.
• Test web-based applications and administration tools such as Retool for correctness.
• Validate user stories and tasks upon transition to the QA phase within sprint cycles.
• Execute acceptance testing to verify feature alignment with requirements and design.
• Ensure thorough testing of functionality, usability, and compatibility across various devices and operating system versions.
• Detect and document bugs accurately within Jira, including clear reproduction steps.
• Verify bug resolutions and perform regression testing on impacted features.
• Explore edge cases and potential break scenarios.
• Include supporting media such as screenshots, recordings, and logs in bug reports.
• Perform release candidate testing for app updates on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Assist in preparing release notes and highlighting known issues.
• Conduct smoke tests and sanity checks ahead of production deployments.
• Validate promotional workflows and marketing campaigns pre-launch.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to confirm readiness for release.
• Participate in test planning and contribute to strategy formulation for new features.
• Maintain and update regression test cases to guarantee consistent coverage.
• Provide comprehensive test reports and analysis to guide release decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Over two years of hands-on experience in manual QA testing specifically for mobile applications on iOS and Android.
• Strong grasp of mobile application testing principles and industry best practices.
• Proficiency using bug tracking systems, preferably Jira.
• Exceptional attention to detail along with the ability to identify unusual edge cases.
• Excellent written communication skills for clear documentation of bugs and test outcomes.
• Capability to independently manage workload and time effectively.
• Legal authorization to work within the United States.
• Willingness to occasionally coordinate with teams across North American and European time zones.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to testing in sports betting or daily fantasy sports environments.
• Familiarity with mobile casino and gaming applications.
• Knowledge of various major sports leagues including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, and esports.
• Experience with administrative tool testing such as Retool or equivalent platforms.
• Background in testing payment processes including deposits, withdrawals, and bonuses.
• Understanding of web application testing alongside mobile QA.
• Interest or experience in transitioning toward automated mobile testing.
