Loss Prevention Officer

Position Overview

The Loss Prevention Officer role focuses on maintaining the security and safety of the property and its guests by monitoring, patrolling, and responding to security concerns. The officer will conduct comprehensive patrols, monitor surveillance systems, enforce access control, and respond promptly to emergencies and incidents.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Patrol all property areas and assist guests with room access.
• Monitor surveillance equipment including CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire safety systems.
• Secure property entrances by locking them as needed.
• Perform daily inspections to identify physical hazards.
• Respond to accidents, administer first aid or CPR, and contact emergency medical services when required.
• Assist guests and employees during emergencies and manage disturbances effectively.
• Notify relevant personnel about accidents, attacks, or incidents; prepare detailed incident reports.
• Handle interruptions and complaints ensuring safety hazards are promptly resolved.
• Escort unauthorized individuals off the property without disrupting operations.
• Respond to vehicle accident or theft scenes; coordinate assistance using proper communication codes.
• Complete shift summaries and daily activity reports.
• Maintain utmost confidentiality regarding security reports and proprietary information.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview involved parties as necessary.
• Follow all company protocols including safety training, uniform standards, and reporting unsafe work conditions.
• Welcome and assist guests with professional courtesy while supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Demonstrate clear communication and maintain positive working relationships to foster teamwork.
• Comply with quality assurance standards and be physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for prolonged periods.
• Handle physical demands such as lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, and heavier items with assistance.
• Navigate difficult or confined spaces and varied terrain safely.
• Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Work Experience: No prior experience required
• Supervisory Experience: Not necessary
