Job Summary
The Librarian will assist the library manager in advancing the college library's development to deliver excellent service to students and staff. The position involves performing both professional and clerical duties such as organizing, lending, and managing library materials and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the department manager in evaluating and recommending materials for acquisition, including books, periodicals, and audio-visual items.
- Lend library resources effectively to students and employees.
- Organize and sustain assigned library collections.
- Implement library policies regarding the weeding, repair, and replacement of materials.
- Assist in creating and managing various library programs.
- Collaborate with the Learning Resource Center Manager and Senior Librarian to integrate cutting-edge information technologies.
- Distribute publishers’ catalogs for acquisition to keep library resources current and standard.
- Ensure the quality control of materials via commercial bindery monitoring and preparation.
- Maintain non-print media and equipment and assist users in locating audio-visual materials.
- Monitor stock and spatial requirements and advise on shifts planning and execution.
- Offer reference assistance, reader advisory services, and instruction on using library systems and resources.
- Address patrons’ inquiries, feedback, and complaints or escalate them as necessary.
- Contribute to evolving library policies and procedures.
- Help enforce policies and adapt work processes within the library unit.
- Report incidents involving rule violations by students to the library manager.
- Assist in conducting studies and preparing reports for library management.
- Ensure the library collection aligns dynamically with current college curriculum needs by updating and removing materials accordingly.
- Promote quality service delivery by identifying and adopting best practices.
- Work with the library manager to provide access to e-resources through the college’s Learning Management System and train students in their use.
- Catalog and classify both print and non-print materials accurately.
- Maintain billing records for invoices and payments and manage statistical reporting.
- Create and maintain bibliographic records following best practice standards upon request.

Academic Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited university or college is required.
