Learning & Development Specialist - 18-Month Contract - Global Transformation

Overview

McCain Foods is undertaking a major global transformation of its supply chain planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to enhance operational efficiency. This initiative addresses current challenges such as disconnected data systems, limited cross-functional engagement, and excessive time demands for demand and supply planning. To support this effort, McCain is hiring a Learning & Development Specialist on an 18-month contract who will help coordinate and align training activities between global and regional teams to ensure the successful implementation of the training strategy.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager for Global Transformation, this specialist will assist in developing and executing the comprehensive, global training strategy critical to the transformation program. The position entails gathering regional input, facilitating alignment, monitoring progress, and empowering regional teams to effectively operationalize training initiatives. This full-time temporary role can be based in Toronto, Ontario or Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development, alignment, and execution of the global training strategy in collaboration with internal L&D leadership, regional teams, and external consultants.
• Gather and synthesize input from regional stakeholders to ensure training content and schedules meet localized requirements.
• Coordinate communication and alignment activities to maintain consistency and progress across time zones and cultures.
• Track training rollout status and provide documentation and feedback to stakeholders at all stages.
• Facilitate tailored adaptations of training materials and timelines for regional relevance without compromising global standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in training coordination, learning and development, or change management roles.
• Experience supporting training efforts within large-scale change or transformation projects, preferably with a global reach.
• Strong organizational and project coordination abilities, with keen attention to details.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across different cultures, regions, and time zones.
• Familiarity with technical training or system implementation projects is advantageous.
• Skill in influencing and building trusted relationships without formal authority.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as necessary.

Additional Information

The compensation for this fixed-term contract position ranges between CAD 81,600 and CAD 108,900 annually, prorated according to the contract duration. Due to the part-time nature, comprehensive employee benefits will not be fully applicable.
