Role Overview
The Learning and Leadership Development Specialist is a full-time, on-site position located in Palm Harbor, FL. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing leadership and staff training programs aimed at enhancing organizational capabilities. Key activities include performing needs analyses, creating curricula, facilitating workshops, and aiding coaching efforts for leaders at multiple levels. The role involves close collaboration with management and HR to ensure learning initiatives align with organizational objectives, monitor engagement and effectiveness, and iterate programs based on data and participant feedback. Additionally, the specialist supports talent development, onboarding, and succession planning to build a strong leadership pipeline.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in developing and delivering educational programs, including curriculum design and training facilitation.
- Expertise in leadership growth, coaching, mentoring, and delivering constructive performance feedback.
- Competent in conducting learning needs assessments, program evaluation through metrics and surveys, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills capable of engaging diverse groups and fostering trust.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, virtual training platforms, and presentation software; adaptable to hybrid learning environments.
- Strong organizational abilities with effective project management and prioritization in a dynamic, mission-driven setting.
- Educational background includes a bachelor's degree in education, HR, organizational development, or a related discipline; certifications in training or leadership development are advantageous.
- Experience in nonprofit, community-focused, or youth-serving organizations is preferred along with commitment to equity, inclusion, and social responsibility values central to the YMCA.
