Job Overview
The position offered is for an Import Export Executive at Galaxy HR Solutions based in Lower Parel, Mumbai. This role requires a graduate with over three years of experience, preferably in the chemicals sector. The salary is flexible for the ideal candidate.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare necessary export documentation such as Export Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading draft, and other related paperwork for both pre and post shipment phases.
- Manage insurance certificates through online portals, ensuring adequate insured amounts are maintained.
- Handle hazardous cargo by understanding hazardous classes, packing groups, and prepare Dangerous Goods Declarations accordingly.
- Coordinate communications and activities with the factory, Customs House Agents (CHA), forwarding agents, transporters, shipping lines, and customers.
- Negotiate freight charges for air and sea transport with forwarders, shipping lines, or CHA.
- Verify and approve shipping documents including shipping bill checklists, bill of entry checklists, airway bill drafts, and bill of lading drafts.
- Coordinate booking of flights and vessels with freight forwarders.
- Arrange courier shipments through services such as DHL and FedEx.
- Possess knowledge of Letter of Credit shipments.
- Review and comply with SCOMET and Narcotics requirements for every shipment.
- Resolve queries from export customers in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Arrange transportation for Full Container Load (FCL) shipments and factory stuffing.
- Apply online for Preferential and Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin.
- Manage multiple shipments simultaneously with efficiency.
- Dispatch final shipment documents to customers and track cargo until delivery.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of all export shipments, including Electronic Goods Manifest (EGM) and RODTEP benefits.
- Understand and generate RODTEP scrips, and handle related DGFT and ICEGATE applications.
- Ensure appropriate packing based on shipment nature, especially for hazardous goods.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including accurate HS codes, tariffs, and taxes.
- Keep detailed records and reports related to import data and compliance documentation.
- Work collaboratively with logistics, finance, and procurement teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes affecting imports and exports as well as internal company policies.
Additional Information
- Proficiency with MS Office is required.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork capability are essential.
