Job Overview
The Housekeeping Floor Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the upkeep, cleanliness, and overall appearance of all guest rooms and corridors on designated floors at Rosewood AMAALA. Responsible for leading Villa Attendants and Housemen, this position guarantees room servicing adheres to ultra-luxury standards consistent with Rosewood’s brand values and Forbes Travel Guide / LQA requirements. Coordination with various departments including Front of House, Engineering, and Laundry is essential to provide guests with immaculate and personalized accommodations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Room Attendants and Housemen on assigned floors, ensuring timely and exceptional cleaning services.
- Distribute daily room and area assignments considering occupancy, arrivals, departures, and staff availability.
- Facilitate pre-shift meetings to highlight priorities, VIP room requirements, and key quality standards.
- Offer coaching, feedback, and recognition to promote a motivated, effective team.
- Contribute to hiring, induction, and training processes of floor housekeeping staff.
- Thoroughly understand and enforce all departmental policies and service standards.
- Maintain excellence daily aligned with LQA and brand benchmarks.
- Execute Go Audits and uniform inspections on guest rooms, suites, and corridors checking cleanliness, arrangement, amenities, and maintenance.
- Personally inspect VIP, long-stay, and special attention rooms for ideal presentation and amenity placement.
- Ensure guest amenities, linens, towels, and materials are correctly located, in good condition, and adequately replenished.
- Ensure floor corridors, service areas, and guest lift lobbies remain spotless, organized, and clutter-free.
- Respond swiftly to guest requests involving room service, special amenities, or personalized needs.
- Collaborate closely with Front of House regarding room status updates, walk-ins, early arrivals, late check-outs, and room transfers.
- Liaise with Engineering to report, track, and resolve maintenance issues in rooms and corridors.
- Coordinate with Laundry for linen requirements, special items, and quality issues.
- Engage with Security concerning room access, "Do Not Disturb" signs, lost & found, and safety events on the floor.
- Precisely update room status (clean, inspected, out-of-order, out-of-service) in the Property Management System.
- Prepare or review daily documentation including room assignment sheets, inspection lists, and discrepancy reports, applying corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure all housekeeping personnel practice safe work methods, proper lifting techniques, and hygiene protocols.
- Clean thoroughly all bathroom surfaces including mirrors, vanity, sinks, toilets, shower areas, and floors, removing all soil, soap residues, and hair.
- Enforce stringent hygiene standards focusing on high-contact surfaces and sanitation.
- Keep fire exits, stairwells, and emergency routes clear and accessible at all times.
- Ensure team members understand and are prepared to carry out emergency actions including guest evacuation.
- Replenish facial tissues, toilet tissue, and bathroom amenities accurately.
- Inspect and replace soiled or damaged bathrobes and linens where required.
- Manage laundry bags and documentation.
- Clean closets and door tracks in check-out rooms, ensuring proper hanger numbers, extra bedding, pillows, and luggage racks.
- Polish and dust furniture and realign furnishings per floor layouts.
- Inspect under furniture and remove debris; check for and report damage to furniture.
- Clean electronic devices including TV, remotes, and radio, setting correct time and channels.
- Clean lamps, switches and verify their functionality.
- Wipe down windows, ledges and frames removing dust and smudges.
- Perform other duties as delegated by supervisors or managers.
Accountabilities
- Adhere strictly to company OSHMS policies, procedures, and all applicable legislation governing workplace safety and health.
- Maintain personal and workplace safety and report hazards, incidents, or concerns to supervisors or managers immediately.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in hotel guest room cleaning.
- High school diploma is required.
- Demonstrable attention to detail, accuracy, prioritization, organizational skills, and the ability to follow directions meticulously.
- Strong problem-solving skills with calm judgment under pressure.
- Ability to understand guest service needs and work cooperatively with team members.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and familiarity with cleaning tools and materials.
Other Requirements
- Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks involving movement, lifting, reaching, and prolonged standing.
- No specific licenses or certifications are mandatory for this role.
