Housekeeping Attendant (Full-time) - Moncton

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining assigned areas of the property to ensure a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment. This role involves operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor polishers, and buffers while adhering to corporate safety and security policies, including the use of personal protective equipment. The position also supports excellent guest relations by meeting established customer service standards and contributing to a positive workplace culture aligned with Casino New Brunswick’s values.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of assigned zones, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, debris removal, and floor waxing.
• Maintain a safe workplace by following safety procedures and using necessary safety gear, identifying and addressing hazards like wet floors or debris in hallways.
• Monitor supply inventory and ensure housekeeping tasks comply with internal department policies and procedures.
• Uphold the highest standards of customer service and respect for guests, coworkers, and casino personnel.
• Stay alert to gaming operations and adhere to security policies to protect company assets.
• Comply with licensing, health, safety, and other regulatory requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of housekeeping or janitorial work experience in a commercial setting is preferred.
• Service-oriented attitude with a strong focus on people and teamwork.
• Ability to work efficiently and safely within given timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques and commercial cleaning products.
• WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training.
• Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
• Must clear a criminal background check.
• Applicants must be 19 years or older.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work in a busy office and casino environment with multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
• The role involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting items up to 35 pounds.
• Schedule flexibility is required to accommodate business needs, including shifts during holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekends.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $16.00 to $18.55 per hour.
