Ampster is a UK-based and Dutch-rooted home energy management startup that works with households using home batteries, electric vehicles, and solar panels. The business supports Dutch consumers in improving solar generation returns, trading energy, and increasing self-consumption so they can make the most of net metering tax rebates. The company is not publicly launched and is currently bringing in people to help test and improve its energy management algorithms. Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site housekeeping position in Brighton. The successful candidate will keep work areas tidy, hygienic, and well-organized for employees and visitors.

Key Duties

The role involves routine cleaning across common spaces, offices, and washrooms. Typical tasks include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces. The Housekeeper will also manage laundry, replace linens, replenish cleaning and facility supplies, and make sure all areas remain neat and welcoming. Safe use of basic cleaning tools and equipment is expected, along with timely reporting of repair or maintenance concerns. The role requires regular coordination with colleagues to decide task priorities, and may include occasional support in training new team members on cleaning practices and standards.

Required Experience and Abilities

Applicants should be comfortable with general housekeeping and laundry work, and able to stay organized while managing cleaning routines, stock levels, and multiple spaces efficiently. Good communication and customer service skills are important for interacting professionally with staff, guests, and vendors. A willingness or ability to help train new housekeeping team members is also valued. Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety is essential, as is the ability to handle physical work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Prior experience in housekeeping, facilities, or a similar position is helpful. The ideal person will be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
