About the Role

Silverchain Group is seeking compassionate Home Care Workers to join our team in Orange, New South Wales, providing essential support to help elderly community members live independently and enjoy improved wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform general housekeeping duties such as bed-making, cleaning, mopping, vacuuming floors, and laundry including washing, folding and ironing.
- Prepare meals and assist with grocery shopping.
- Provide personal care including helping clients get out of bed, shower, dress, and assisting with medication administration.
- Support clients with mobility and therapy activities, including care for clients with complex needs like dementia.
- Offer social and emotional support to clients and provide transportation to lifestyle activities or appointments.
- Assist family carers by giving them respite opportunities.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- At least 3 months’ experience in a similar professional care role involving personal care, manual handling, hoist training, and medication assistance.
- Possess a valid Australian driver's license and have access to an insured, roadworthy personal vehicle.
- Enjoy diverse tasks and delivering high-quality care.
- Able to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Remain calm and professional in challenging situations such as delays or difficult client moods.
- Work independently, problem solve daily challenges, and know when to seek managerial support.
