Role Overview
The Helper position in a transportation or logistics firm plays a critical role in supporting the safe and efficient loading and unloading of goods, organizing shipments, validating delivery contents, and assisting customers during drop-offs. The goal is to ensure seamless and secure transportation functions throughout the delivery process.
Key Responsibilities
- Physically handle and arrange packages and bulky cargo for loading onto and unloading from delivery vehicles.
- Help in correctly stacking and securing items to avoid damage or displacement during movement.
- Verify inventories by cross-checking goods with accompanying shipping documents such as manifests or invoices.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all company safety procedures rigorously, including using the mandatory protective equipment.
- Operate loading equipment like dollies and pallet jacks cautiously to maintain safety standards.
