About the Role

Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is on the lookout for an experienced Head of Science to lead the Science faculty for the IGCSE and A Level programmes at its Aoraki Campus. This leadership position involves overseeing Biology, Chemistry, and Physics teaching staff, upholding curriculum standards, and pioneering innovative educational practices such as integrating artificial intelligence within science education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management for the Science department covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Ensure effective design and execution of curriculum aligned with Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International IGCSE and A Level qualifications.
• Maintain excellence in teaching quality, assessments, feedback mechanisms, and student performance.
• Support faculty members by coaching, observing lessons, and promoting their professional growth.
• Champion innovation in teaching approaches by incorporating AI and technological tools.
• Engage in broader school leadership and contribute to strategic initiatives.
• Liaise actively with students, parents, and potential families.
• Encourage participation in extracurricular activities, including academic Olympiads, competitions, and science clubs.
• Create and uphold a positive, safe, and inclusive educational environment.

Essential Requirements

• Valid New Zealand teaching registration.
• Extensive experience teaching Science at the secondary school level.
• Deep subject expertise in at least one of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
• Prior experience leading a department or faculty.
• Comprehensive understanding of IGCSE and A Level Science curricula, predominantly Pearson Edexcel and/or Cambridge International.
• A demonstrated track record of securing strong student results.
• Capability and confidence delivering lessons in online formats.
• Interest and aptitude for leveraging AI to enhance educational delivery and learning outcomes.
• Excellent leadership qualities coupled with strong communication and teamwork skills.
