Halal Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a committed Halal Officer to join our Quality Assurance team in Dubai. This position involves overseeing the adherence of all products, processes, ingredients, and production activities to Halal certification standards as well as applicable regulatory requirements. The role entails supporting the maintenance of the Company's Halal Management System through comprehensive inspections, precise documentation, supplier validations, staff training, and systematic internal audits. Close collaboration with production, procurement, and quality departments is essential to ensure the Halal integrity of all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Halal certification requirements across company products and processes.
• Conduct inspections and audits to verify adherence to Halal standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and thorough Halal documentation and supplier verification records.
• Facilitate employee training and build awareness on Halal compliance matters.
• Collaborate closely with various departments to uphold Halal procedures and integrity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Islamic Studies, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in Halal compliance, quality assurance, or food manufacturing, preferably within the food industry.
• Familiarity with Halal requirements, GSO standards, Halal certification schemes, HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems.
• Knowledge of Halal ingredient verification, traceability, product segregation, sanitation, and contamination prevention protocols.
• Experience in performing internal audits, inspections, and maintaining Halal compliance documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail paired with strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
• Effective communication skills to educate and raise awareness among employees on Halal standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
