About Airport Development Group (ADG)

Airport Development Group manages a variety of infrastructure assets throughout the Northern Territory, encompassing airports, hospitality, aviation, and commercial properties. Their goal is to invest in, develop, and maintain infrastructure that supports growth in Northern Australia.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Groundsperson to join the Alice Springs airport team. This role is essential in maintaining airport grounds and infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient airport operations. The role involves adherence to safety, security, and environmental regulations, along with company policies.

Key Duties

  • Lawn mowing and tree pruning to maintain landscape aesthetics
  • Ensuring the runway remains clean and free of hazards
  • Performing general repairs and upkeep of airport facilities
  • Operating machinery such as mowers, backhoes, and bobcats
  • Providing airside escort to contractors as necessary
  • Repairing and replacing airside furniture when required
  • Refreshing airside line markings as they fade
  • Working safely and reporting safety concerns promptly
  • Supporting the Aerodrome Reporting Officer during emergencies and peak times after training
  • Inspecting and monitoring airport conditions and reporting issues
  • Responding to emergencies at the airport when called upon

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Self-motivated with initiative to maintain grounds effectively
  • Experience in minor infrastructure maintenance
  • Holds or can obtain Northern Territory driver's license
  • Certified forklift operator or eligible to acquire certification
  • Possesses or can obtain an airside driver's license
  • First aid certification
  • Strong communication and basic computer capabilities
  • Eligibility for aviation security identification and ability to pass a national police clearance
  • Compliance with the NTAPL drug and alcohol management plan, including regular testing

Desirable Attributes

  • Familiarity with Northern Territory Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations
  • Heavy vehicle license
  • Plant operator license
