Role Overview
Jennings O'Donovan & Partners seeks a full-time Graduate Planner to join their team in Sligo. This position is aimed at recent graduates who want to begin their career in a supportive consultancy setting. The candidate will assist in delivering planning services throughout Ireland, working closely with experienced professionals across sectors like Renewable Energy, Environmental, Residential, Commercial, and Water.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out initial research, desktop studies, and site inspections.
- Help prepare planning reports and submission applications.
- Support senior colleagues in developing Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and handling planning appeals.
- Gain knowledge of Irish and UK planning systems as well as Environmental Impact Assessment legislation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and scientists.
- Participate in site visits and meetings with clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a degree accredited by the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) and/or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
- Strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office; GIS software experience is advantageous.
- A valid, full, and clean driving license is mandatory for site-related travel.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams.
