About the opportunity
BlueScope is seeking a Graduate Analyst to join its Performance, Reporting & Risk function. The role is based across Mascot and Port Kembla and supports the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio within a large, complex manufacturing setting that serves both domestic and export customers.
This position is designed to help you launch a career in finance through hands-on exposure to reporting, analysis, and business partnering. You will work in a collaborative, high-performing team supporting finance activities across Australian and New Zealand operations, with structured learning and development from the outset.
What you will do
- Assist with financial reporting and recurring monthly processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
- Support variance analysis and preparation of reports for key cost centres so stakeholders can better understand performance and the reasons behind results.
- Work alongside teams such as Legal, Commercial, Safety, and other functions to contribute to reporting and planning, while building strong cross-functional relationships.
About you
You are inquisitive, enjoy learning how businesses work, and want to grow a career in finance. You like working with data, asking the right questions, and turning numbers into practical insights.
- You hold, or are studying toward, a degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- You are willing to pursue CA or CPA qualifications, or have already begun that journey.
- You have a solid grasp of finance fundamentals and want to apply them in a real business environment.
- You are comfortable using Excel and want to strengthen your technical capability.
