General Manager

Overview

This position is with an independently owned and operated franchisee restaurant using McDonald’s branding and products. The franchisee acts as the actual employer and is solely responsible for employment decisions, staffing, supervision, and related matters; McDonald’s USA does not manage these aspects or receive applications.

About the Role

As General Manager, you will be accountable for operating a profitable restaurant while ensuring compliance with McDonald’s stringent standards for quality, customer service, and cleanliness. Collaborating closely with your leadership team, you will establish and implement goals to achieve operational excellence.

You will guide and support Department Managers by setting their objectives, monitoring progress, and providing coaching to enhance each department’s performance, thereby driving overall restaurant success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the restaurant towards profitability while upholding McDonald’s quality, service, and cleanliness criteria.
• Work with leadership to define restaurant goals and develop actionable plans to meet them.
• Manage and develop Department Managers by facilitating goal setting, tracking progress, and delivering guidance to improve departmental outcomes.
• Recruit and mentor Department and Shift Managers ensuring a strong leadership pipeline for future operations.

Ideal Candidate

Prior experience as a General Manager operating high volume quick service restaurants is preferred. Candidates from hospitality or retail backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to serve as a manager in corporate owned and operated locations.
