Role Overview
The General Helper plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations in remote camp environments. This position involves working varied shifts—potentially including split, night, early morning, or late evening hours—across the day to maintain smooth kitchen functioning. Candidates will be considered continuously to form a pool for future vacancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety standards are upheld at all times.
- Adhere strictly to Covid-related safety protocols including hand hygiene, PPE use, and enhanced sanitation.
- Deliver consistent and excellent service to all patrons using the kitchen and dining facilities.
- Maintain a tidy, organized workstation throughout shifts.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks across lunchrooms, dining areas, servery, ware wash areas, kitchens, and storage in the facility.
- Sanitize surfaces, counters, equipment, and seating regularly.
- Execute routine cleaning of high-touch points as required by Covid safety measures.
- Conduct regular sweeping and mopping of floors, including coolers and storerooms.
- Stock necessary food, beverage, and disposable items as needed.
- Dispose of waste, recyclables, and cardboard properly.
- Handle ware washing duties including collection, washing, and proper storage of kitchen items.
- Maintain accurate HACCP logs.
- Verify correct labeling, dating, and rotation of service items.
- Complete weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Assist with food preparation when required.
- Receive and store supplies as directed.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in large-scale kitchen support within camp environments, banquet halls, or hotels is highly valued.
- Possession of Food Safe certification is advantageous.
- Commitment to a 3-week on, 3-week off rotational work schedule.
- Strong teamwork orientation and dedication to client satisfaction.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Must successfully pass drug, alcohol, and health assessments.
- Clearance of a criminal background check is mandatory.
- Valid government-issued photo identification for travel purposes is required.
- Physical capabilities include lifting/carrying/pushing up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs or ladders, extended periods standing, walking, squatting, kneeling or sitting, repetitive hand use, working with arms at full extension or above shoulder height.

Work Schedule and Compensation
The General Helper will operate on a rotational schedule requiring travel to remote sites by air or ground shuttle. Work hours may include nights, weekends, holidays, and weekdays. The role offers hourly wages starting at $19.75.
