Job Overview

The role of General Helper involves preparing, presenting, and serving meals, ensuring food quality and appealing presentation. Key Duties

• Prepare meals for next-day production and portion individual servings.
• Adhere to established safety protocols while performing tasks.
• Properly store food by wrapping, date-labeling, and following safety and rotation guidelines.
• Carry out general cleaning duties including trash removal.
• Distribute necessary supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards to maintain quality, temperature, and portion control.
• Ensure all sanitation and safety standards are met.
• Operate in multiple workstations, including meal packaging and distribution.
• Willingness to learn skid wrapping of finished products.
• Assist with food preparation and cooking as required.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Possession of a valid Food Handler Certificate or equivalent provincial certification is advantageous.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage assigned duties efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently when necessary.
• Competent verbal and written English communication skills to follow instructions accurately.
• Previous experience in food service sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, restaurants, or fast food is beneficial.
• Physically capable of performing job tasks, including occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.

Compensation

The hourly pay rate is set at 17.60 Canadian dollars, with final pay determined by experience, skills, and internal comparisons. The employer complies with all relevant pay transparency laws. Additional details on benefits will be provided during the recruitment process.
