About the Role
This role involves evaluating GCE Statistics candidates' exam responses based on an established marking scheme while adhering strictly to examination protocols and conditions of recognition. Most candidates' scripts are assessed digitally via ePEN from home, although some remain in paper format and are marked traditionally through postal exchanges. A substantial understanding of the subject matter is essential to apply the marking guidelines accurately. Each examiner receives a predetermined batch of scripts to evaluate.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver precise and consistent marking to uphold uniform standards across assessments.
- Submit marking samples to the assigned Team Leader by scheduled deadlines.
- Comply with all marking milestone dates to ensure timely completion.
- Complete all assigned administrative tasks as instructed.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- At least one academic year of teaching experience within the last eight years.
- Relevant teaching experience in the GCE Statistics subject.
- Teaching experience gained after attaining teacher qualification.
- Possession of a degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Qualified teacher status.

- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong time management skills with the capability to meet strict deadlines.
- Comprehensive subject expertise to correctly interpret and apply the marking scheme.
Additional Information
- The marking period typically occurs from May to July.
- Required training for this examiner position takes place between May and June.
