Forklift Driver

Role overview

This position is for a forklift driver to support warehouse and materials movement activities for Sunda International in Weija, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The role focuses on safe equipment operation, accurate stock handling, and maintaining orderly warehouse processes.

Core duties

• Handle forklifts and related material-moving equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
• Move, load, unload, stack, and transport raw materials, finished products, and supply items.
• Deliver goods to the correct storage locations or production areas.
• Support warehouse accuracy by handling and storing materials properly.
• Assist with stock checks, inventory control tasks, and verification of received or dispatched items.
• Keep materials clearly labeled and arranged in an organized way.
• Carry out daily checks before operating the forklift and associated equipment.
• Raise any mechanical issues, defects, or safety risks without delay.
• Keep forklifts clean and ensure they are properly maintained.
• Follow workplace safety rules, operating standards, and traffic guidance within the warehouse.
• Use the required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Maintain a tidy and safe work area.
• Record forklift activity, logs, and other required documentation accurately.
• Report damaged items, equipment issues, or incidents to the supervisor.
• Assist with inventory movement and dispatch records as needed.

Qualification and experience

Candidates should have a Senior High School Certificate or an equivalent qualification. The role requires 1–3 years of forklift operation experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution setting.

Skills and competencies

The ideal candidate should be licensed to operate a forklift, understand warehouse and inventory processes, and be comfortable using different forklift types safely. Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and the ability to work effectively under pressure are important.

Working conditions

This is an onsite full-time role. The job may require shift work, weekend schedules, and overtime depending on operational needs. The position also involves physical activity such as lifting materials and standing for extended periods.
