Forklift Driver

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Driver to join our team at the Ladyswell Brewery in Cork. This position is integral to our logistics department, contributing to the safe and effective handling of finished goods within our operational yard. You will play a vital role in supporting logistics operations by moving, storing, loading, and unloading products with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Working Hours

• Scheduled shifts are between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
• Flexibility is required to cover various shift patterns within the stated operating hours.
• Occasional overtime and work during weekends may be necessary based on business demands.

Primary Duties

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently within the logistics yard.
• Perform loading and unloading of vehicles following company protocols.
• Transport finished products and packaging materials across the site accurately.
• Use warehouse management systems and handheld devices to track stock movement.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the logistics area.
• Maximise the use of trailers, loading bays, and storage spaces.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and report any issues immediately.
• Observe all health and safety policies and site regulations.
• Support inventory control efforts including stock counts and accuracy checks.
• Collaborate with teams across warehouse, transport, production, and customer service for smooth operations.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities within the logistics function.

• Strict compliance with all HEINEKEN safety standards and procedures is mandatory.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Promptly report hazards, incidents, and near misses.
• Ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Operate forklifts only if properly trained and authorized.

• Accuracy in loading/unloading operations and stock handling.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a valid Forklift Truck License, at minimum Counterbalance type.
• Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Effective team working ability and good communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with IT systems and warehouse management tools.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in fast-moving consumer goods, brewing, or beverage logistics industries.
• Reach Truck driving certification.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Background in continuous improvement programs or TPM.
