Food Service Worker II

Position Overview

Northern Health is seeking a diligent and committed Food Service Worker to join the team at Nats’oojeh Hospital and Health Centre located in Fort St James, British Columbia. This role operates under the guidance of a manager or designated supervisor and aligns with Northern Health’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist cooks by performing tasks such as blending, grinding, slicing, and preparing salads, vegetables, sandwiches, and desserts.
• Measure and combine food and beverage ingredients accurately.
• Set up and portion patient trays or resident meals, ensuring compliance with nutrition care plans, including therapeutic diets.
• Verify patient trays for accuracy before delivery.
• Prepare beverages and light refreshments such as tea, coffee, and toast.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, maintaining general cleanliness of the kitchen area.
• Serve meals to staff and manage cash collection for purchased items, including processing meal tickets.

Work Schedule

This position requires working in the evening shift from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on a rotating basis.
