Role Overview
We are seeking firefighters to join our Fire and Rescue team based in Nowra, New South Wales. This role involves responding to a variety of incidents such as airfield, structural fires, and bushfire management. Working under the guidance of Station and Sub Station Officers, you will maintain operational readiness, perform administrative duties, comply with health and safety standards, and participate in regular training and drills. The position operates on an early/late roster system.
Responsibilities
- Ensure readiness for operations by adhering to established procedures.
- Complete all required administrative tasks linked to operational duties.
- Follow relevant health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Engage in training and drills to sustain preparedness for emergencies.
- Work according to the assigned early/late roster schedule.
Qualifications and Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens able to obtain and sustain a Defence Security Clearance up to negative vetting 1 (secret) level. This entails passing an Australian Federal Police check and a CASA Basic Class 2 medical examination.
Required credentials include:
- PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- Current HR class driver's license
