About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Finance team at our Head Office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role demands an experienced leader who will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, secure effective financial controls, timely month-end closings, and successful delivery of external audits. The Financial Controller will act as a key operational pillar within the Finance function, supporting the CFO by managing the finance team and operational details, allowing the CFO to focus on strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities across all company units and entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.
- Supervise heads of Treasury, FP&A & Budgeting, Accounting, and Financial Controls departments.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, trial balances, and maintain a comprehensive financial calendar covering close, audit, tax, and regulatory deadlines.
- Manage intercompany accounting processes, reconciliations, and consolidation eliminations.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analyses, ensuring full IFRS compliance and audit readiness.
- Lead IFRS conversion initiatives, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors, and uphold consistent accounting policies across business units.
- Oversee project revenue recognition according to IFRS 15, managing percentage-of-completion calculations and cost estimates.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, manage audit preparation, schedule, and timely completion with resolution of any audit findings.
- Implement and continuously enhance financial controls, segregation of duties, approval frameworks, and internal policies.
- Coordinate Finance contributions for Board presentations, Audit Committee reports, due diligence, and other external reporting requirements.
- Lead special finance projects assigned by the CFO, maintaining oversight of finance risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
Success Metrics
- Complete month-end close by the 5th working day.
- Deliver reviewed management accounts to the CFO by the 8th working day.
- Achieve an unqualified external audit opinion on schedule.
- Resolve 100% of prior year audit findings.
- Complete IFRS conversion by the fourth quarter of 2026.
- Maintain zero unresolved major financial control breaches.
- Successfully deliver all CFO-assigned finance project milestones.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is mandatory.
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- At least 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience with minimum 3 years in a senior finance leadership role like Financial Controller.
- Industry experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, contracting, or project-driven organizations required.
- Proven track record managing IFRS conversion and handling statutory/external audits; Big 4 audit experience highly preferred.
- Experience working in listed companies is advantageous.
- GCC regional experience essential; Saudi Arabia experience is a strong plus.
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of IFRS standards including IFRS 15, IAS 16, IFRS 16, and IFRS 8.
- Advanced skills in financial closing processes and reporting.
- Strong command of financial controls, governance, and risk assessment.
- Expertise in project and construction accounting principles.
- Experienced user of SAP or similar ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and close management software tools is beneficial.

Additional Information
This role requires immediate availability or preference for immediate joiners. The position is based at the Head Office in Riyadh and involves close collaboration with the CFO and external auditors. The Financial Controller will be central to ensuring compliance, timely financial operations, and leading key finance projects during significant conversion and audit cycles.
