Finance Team at Brex

The Finance department plays a pivotal role in strategic planning, forecasting, capital allocation, and ROI analysis. They collaborate across departments to align the company around ambitious goals and influence long-term value creation, not just reporting results.

Work Environment

This position is based in the Vancouver office, within a hybrid work setting that blends onsite synergy with remote flexibility. Employees are expected to work on-site at least three days weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) and enjoy up to four weeks annually of fully remote work.

Role Overview

Brex seeks two Finance Associates to initially oversee specific workflows then rotate through the comprehensive Corporate FP&A functions. The role includes direct involvement in company-wide business planning and executive reporting, alongside contributing to AI initiatives and financial systems improvement. The ideal candidate integrates AI into daily processes and focuses on innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead forecasting and planning via operational model management and stakeholder collaboration to drive business progress.
• Review and enhance financial models supporting objectives, operational, and financial reporting.
• Engage in budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, and administrative finance activities.
• Manage monthly management reporting and biweekly rolling forecasts presented to executive leadership.
• Assist Finance Business Partners in preparing Budget versus Actuals reports.
• Develop and maintain AI-powered finance tools and financial systems infrastructure to automate reporting and enhance team effectiveness.
• Support special projects and perform ad hoc analyses for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a closely related field.
• Over 2 years' experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, or Investment Banking.
• Strong AI-first approach: routinely leveraging AI to advance workflows and accelerate analyses.
• Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint, with demonstrated capability in financial modeling and complex data management.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, quantitative, and analytical aptitude.
• Intellectually curious, collaborative, and driven to take initiative in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective multitasking with proactive management of workstreams without supervision.
• Preference for delivering proactive insights rather than reactive reports.
• Ability to work autonomously, create structure amid ambiguity, and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Compensation & Additional Information

The salary range for this position is approximately 104000 to 130000 CAD annually, dependent on location, skills, experience, market factors, and internal equity. The package may also include equity and other compensation components.
