Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead GAAP conversion and accounting change advisory projects within the FAAS (Financial Accounting Advisory Services) team. This role involves coordinating closely with FAAS managers and senior leaders for client engagements across various global regions including Americas, EMEIA, and APAC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality and progress of service delivery for client engagements.
  • Manage day-to-day fieldwork and keep supervisors updated on engagement status.
  • Respond promptly to client requests and align on timelines for deliverables and reporting.
  • Communicate key client success factors to engagement teams effectively.
  • Collaborate daily with onshore teams to meet client expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and apply them appropriately to complex client scenarios.
  • Identify and resolve engagement or client service challenges through research and benchmarking.
  • Coordinate with technical accounting teams to clarify issues and provide research assistance on U.S. GAAP and IFRS pronouncements.
  • Customize communications and presentations to align with specific acquisition attributes.
  • Manage projects spanning initial client pitches through transaction closing phases.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders by understanding their market context and addressing their needs consistently.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and enforce adherence through oversight.
  • Drive continuous improvement by proposing and implementing reporting, analysis, and process enhancements.
  • Lead small teams on projects, providing mentorship and feedback to junior members.

  • Help grow the practice by contributing to solution development, engagement tools, and enabling materials.

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Strong command of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, and GAAP conversion processes.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with onshore technical accounting teams and provide research support on accounting pronouncements.
  • Experience managing projects strategically, ensuring information flow and coordination among finance and cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to align conversion projects with organizational objectives through collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Hands-on experience leading GAAP conversion matters from client pitch stage through project delivery, including end-to-end oversight.
  • Skilled at mentoring teams, conducting training sessions, and guiding on complex accounting topics.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, presentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Adept at researching client inquiries, emerging regulatory issues, industry standards, and technology impacts.
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice when required.
  • Experience with specific GAAP conversion engagements (IFRS to US GAAP and vice versa).
  • Familiarity with implementation of new accounting standards such as IFRS 15/ASC 606, IFRS 16/ASC 842, IFRS 9/ASC 825, ASC 326, ASC 815; knowledge of IFRS 17/ASC 944 is an advantage.
