Executive Director, Equities Execution Client Operations

Role overview

This position sits within Operations, a broad function that works across the firm to support banking, securities, and asset management activities for clients globally. The group also plays a key role in managing risk and controls that protect the firm's assets and reputation, and in building the processes that support new products and completed trades.

Impact of the role

As part of the Equities Execution Services team, you will build expertise in onboarding, configuration, cash processing, and allocation activities that support cash equity trading across Goldman Sachs businesses. The role involves close collaboration with Business and Client Service partners, along with regular communication across Business, Technology, and other Operations teams.

Main responsibilities

• Manage clients' post-trade execution requirements, including complex requests, queries, and high-quality settlement of transactions.
• Support operational risk management and oversight for equities sales and trading activity while protecting the accuracy of the firm's books and records through effective workflows, systems, and controls from trade capture through settlement.
• Help ensure the right technology, processes, and controls are in place to support sophisticated financial transactions in line with client needs, internal standards, and external regulations.
• Lead discussions on change management with technology and other operational or securities teams to understand downstream impacts and create smoother operating flows.
• Spot, document, and implement process improvements within the department, especially in relation to firm reference data and control design.
• Improve the client experience in an environment focused on risk and control, while helping drive solutions and change across the operating infrastructure through collaboration with a global team.
• Act as a coordination point across Operations, Business, and Technology for high-impact workflows, complex issues, and initiatives.
• Own important workflows and client problems, ensuring accurate and timely processing across all relevant flows.
• Contribute to stronger efficiency, tighter controls, and better client outcomes by identifying opportunities to reduce manual work and improve processes.
• Support change initiatives, system enhancements, and communication needed to resolve issues and deliver projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues at Analyst and Associate level.

Required experience and qualities

• A minimum of 6 years' experience, with working knowledge of client post-trade execution, ideally in banking.
• Strong client service orientation and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• A team-first, proactive, and self-driven approach.
• A strong control mindset with a focus on achieving results while mitigating risk.
• Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Clear communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, deadline-driven setting.
