Position Overview
Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar is inviting applications for an experienced Emergency Medicine Faculty member to join their academic medical center in Doha, Qatar. This full-time on-site role focuses on delivering high-quality medical education and clinical care in an internationally recognized institution aligned with Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-lead the Emergency Medicine Clerkship and instruct students within integrated foundational sciences courses employing varied teaching methods.
- Mentor medical students to foster clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and professional development within a diverse cultural setting.
- Provide emergency care to adult patients in hospital environments and participate actively in service delivery alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Conduct clinical, educational, or translational research through both local and international collaborations, contributing to publications, presentations, and grant projects to advance academic excellence.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- MD degree or an accepted equivalent qualification.
- American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or an equivalent credential.
- Experience teaching and practicing clinically in academic medical centers, preferably in North America.
- Proven excellence in both teaching and scholarly activity.
Preferred Additional Experience
- At least 3 years of substantial teaching experience at the undergraduate or academic health system level, demonstrating a strong commitment to education.
- Proficiency with multiple learning modalities including bedside teaching, simulations, problem-based learning, lectures, small groups, journal clubs, and flipped classrooms.
- Experience integrating emerging technologies to enhance medical education and student assessment.
- A solid record of clinical or educational research is advantageous.
