Job description
Position Overview
The Renfrew County District School Board is seeking a dedicated Educational Support Personnel to join Herman Street Public School in Petawawa, Ontario. This role is full-time at 35 hours per week, providing essential support services to students.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess at minimum a two-year community college diploma in social services fields such as Developmental Services Worker (DSW), Child and Youth Worker (CYW), or Social Service Worker (SSW). Equivalent education and experience combinations may also be considered, with transcripts requested to verify relevant coursework.
Role Requirements and Duties
- Demonstrated capability and readiness to undertake critical duties including toileting, diapering, feeding, lifting, transferring, positioning, and mobility assistance.
- Experience or training in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behaviour Management Systems (BMS), Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS), lifting techniques, and WHMIS certification are advantageous.
- Familiarity with computer supports and adaptive or assistive technologies is considered a plus.

- Priority for filling vacancies is given to current members of the Board's Educational Support Personnel bargaining unit before external candidates are considered.
