Position Summary
The Drafter role focuses on supporting the creation and upkeep of architectural and construction documentation that underpins product implementation and community growth. This position requires crafting detailed plans, elevations, and technical drawings under moderate supervision, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and accuracy. The role demands cooperation with diverse internal teams to address feedback, solve drafting challenges, and maintain consistent documentation quality across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create precise architectural drawings, plans, and elevations following established drafting protocols and utilizing appropriate tools.
- Revise and update construction documents reflecting redlines, operational adjustments, field inputs, and design changes.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of drawings, ensuring compliance with product standards and building codes.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to clarify design goals and resolve drafting queries.
- Analyze and troubleshoot drafting concerns using analytical skills and prior experience.
- Promote uniformity and standardization of drafting methods throughout plan sets and community projects.
- Maintain and organize drawing files, annotations, and documentation systems to guarantee version control.
- Oversee production and design workflows to identify and manage requests or possible delays.
- Coordinate with consultants and external partners to ensure information coherence.
- Provide mentorship and assistance to junior or support personnel as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: Associate degree in drafting, architecture, design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two years' experience in drafting or creating architectural documentation.
- Proficiency in preparing architectural drawings and technical paperwork.
- Experience working collaboratively within team-oriented design or production settings.
- Preferred: Background in residential, homebuilding, or construction drafting.
- Familiarity with architectural drafting standards and workflows.
- Experience with CAD or similar architectural drafting software platforms.

- Comprehensive understanding of drafting standards, architectural concepts, and construction documentation.
- High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements
This role is predominantly office-based, with occasional visits to construction sites or completed model homes. Travel is minimal and primarily related to project coordination. The position requires the ability to remain seated for long durations, operate computers and drafting tools, review detailed technical documents, move within an office setting, and travel to project locations as needed.
