Role Overview
As a Dispenser at Boots UK, you will play a vital role within the pharmacy team supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals in delivering safe, effective pharmacy and healthcare services to our customers. Your responsibilities will range from greeting patients, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring medicine safety, to providing well-informed advice to aid patients' health and wellness decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while ensuring the safe supply of medications, including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collection.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to manage and deliver pharmacy services efficiently.
- Advise patients on medicines and refer complex queries to the pharmacist as needed.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
- Stay informed about new in-store innovations and comply with operational procedures.
- Help patients effectively manage their repeat prescriptions and medicine adherence to reduce waste.
- Engage with evolving technology systems in-store to improve dispensing processes and patient safety.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or equivalent, or be in progress with the first year of an MPharm qualification.
- Valid UK right to work is required; this role does not sponsor Skilled Worker Visas.
- Experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.
Additional Information
This position is based in-store within the UK; remote applications from outside the UK or without appropriate qualifications and work rights will not be considered. As part of pre-employment, successful candidates must complete a DBS, PVG, or Access NI check depending on location.
