Role Overview

This new strategic position, titled Director of Operational Efficiency & Technology Innovation, will concentrate on advancing AI and emerging technology strategies across MMS. The role involves partnering with operational leaders to identify AI integration opportunities, lead organizational transformation, and ensure governance and regulatory compliance in deploying innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to evaluate, develop, and deploy AI, machine learning, automation, and new technologies enhancing operational efficiency and service innovation across MMS service lines.
• Drive process improvements through automation and optimization targeting cost reduction, faster delivery, higher quality, enhanced employee experience, and scalable operations.
• Function as a thought leader on the AI Steering Committee, collaborating with Quality, Regulatory, IT, and business units to establish AI governance, risk management, validation, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operational leaders and Data Science teams to foster AI adoption and manage change across areas such as Biometrics, Medical Writing, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, and other operations.
• Represent MMS externally in industry groups, scientific symposiums, client engagements, and strategic partnerships related to AI, automation, and digital transformation.

Candidate Profile

• At least 10 years of experience in areas such as technology innovation, operational excellence, digital transformation, or AI.
• Proven, hands-on experience in driving AI strategies and implementing AI technologies, automation, or machine learning within enterprises.
• Strong knowledge of AI, machine learning, and automation technologies and their application to enhance business operations.
• Preferably experienced in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, healthcare, or other regulated fields.
• Technical expertise or familiarity with clinical trial operations, biometrics, or related functions is advantageous.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing cross-departmental initiatives and influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Skilled in anticipating and resolving complex business and client challenges.
• Established managerial experience with a track record of leading organizational change and innovation.
