Role Purpose
The Finance Director will lead the finance department at Amrak Facilities Management, specializing in the Facilities Management sector. The role demands comprehensive expertise in financial management, familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and active membership in a professional accounting body such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Facilities Management team's efforts to ensure operational alignment with strategic project plans, policies, and procedures.
- Exemplify Amrak’s core values and corporate strategy to cultivate a committed, high-performing team.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, monitor performance against budgets, and provide insightful analyses with improvement recommendations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring compliance with accepted accounting principles.
- Detect potential cash flow issues and financial discrepancies proactively.
- Collaborate with department heads to keep departmental budgets on track.
- Ensure prompt and accurate tax return preparation and regulatory tax compliance.
- Supervise and guide accounting staff and junior team members.
- Regularly update senior management on the company's financial health and performance.
- Ensure adherence to accounting regulations and maintain robust internal controls.
- Build and develop the accounting operations team, providing leadership and oversight.
- Manage withholding tax and VAT returns, monthly financial reporting, and closing processes.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements compliant with IFRS standards.
- Manage cash flow to support operational and strategic needs.
- Implement and uphold strong internal controls, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.
- Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Oversee financial systems and software to promote accuracy and efficiency.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team, ensuring they have adequate resources and skills.
- Interact with auditors, tax advisors, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate audits and tax compliance.
- Lead or assist with special financial projects, including acquisitions and financial modeling.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in management accounting or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, procedures, and GAAP.
- Membership in a recognized professional accounting body such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced analytical skills capable of interpreting complex financial data and generating actionable insights.
- Proven leadership and effective team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
