DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Verimatrix plays a key role in securing and authenticating streamed video content across various delivery platforms including satellite, cable, and internet. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer I to become part of our Cloud Operations team, focusing on building, deploying, and maintaining anti-piracy systems that enable secure video delivery at scale. Ideal candidates are passionate problem-solvers who enjoy automating operational processes and ensuring system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructures primarily on AWS.
• Manage end-to-end customer operations with responsiveness and professionalism to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Perform root cause investigations based on actual system data to resolve issues.
• Maintain operational tools critical for system stability.
• Oversee network, security, and identity services adhering to AWS governance and industry standards.
• Create and update documentation and runbooks to disseminate operational knowledge.
• Conduct testing for new software releases and verify fixes before deployment.
• Develop automation solutions to reduce repetitive manual tasks.
• Keep abreast of emerging developments in DevOps and cloud engineering domains.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience in operations, DevOps, or production services with at least 2 years in a related role.
• Proficient in scripting or programming languages including Java, Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
• Strong foundation in Linux operating systems and networking concepts.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or equivalent cloud service providers.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced, and urgent environment without losing focus.
• Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Effective communicator with strong presentation skills in English, capable of collaborating across diverse cultures and time zones.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as GitHub and associated workflows.
• Understanding of fundamental cryptographic principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like AWS CloudFormation or similar.
• Exposure to AWS serverless technologies including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Proven success working with distributed international teams.
