Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on enhancing workplace safety and the quality of work, emphasizing accuracy as a fundamental attribute for a Database Engineer involved in commissioning projects. Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is required. The candidate will engage deeply with the project completion procedures and must have familiarity with ship system operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Input and manage data including all drawings, punch lists, and clearance notes within the relevant databases.
- Conduct checks and verifications against project documentation such as Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Detail & Installation Drawings (D&IDs).
- Perform arithmetic calculations involving lengths, angles, scales, and unit conversions related to project drawings.
- Annotate drawings to clearly delineate system and subsystem boundaries.
- Collaborate closely with site teams to collect progress updates and ensure that team members reference the latest drawing revisions.
- Provide assistance to the Commissioning Manager or Project Manager in preparing regular reports – daily, weekly, or monthly.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- A minimum of five years of commissioning experience within the Oil & Gas or Wind Farm sectors.
- Hands-on experience in database setup related to project completions.
- Proficiency with project completion management software such as PIMS, FIC, Sispen, Certificate, and others, alongside MS Excel and Word.
- Basic understanding of project completion processes and ship system familiarity.
- Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and lock-out tag-out protocols.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning capabilities.
- Familiarity with project specifications, technical guidelines, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Competent in MS Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and the core Word and Excel tools.
- Experience with Completion Management System databases such as PIMS-CMS, WinPCS, ProCoSys, or ICAPS.
Work Location and Schedule
Work will be conducted at Seatrium (SG) Pte. Ltd., Tuas Yard, Pioneer Sector 1, Singapore 628437. Islandwide transportation is provided.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:15 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
