Role Summary
The Data Entry Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting revenue cycle management by accurately entering, validating, and cleansing healthcare claims and billing data. This position involves collaborating closely with operational and AI teams to ensure patient, claims, and payer data integrity, which directly impacts financial and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Input and update claims, patient demographics, and billing information into internal and client EHR or practice management systems.
- Verify data accuracy by cross-referencing source documents such as superbills, explanation of benefits, and payer remittances before submission.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, missing information, or coding inconsistencies to appropriate teams.
- Maintain high standards of data quality to support AI-driven workflows for coding, billing, and denial management.
- Monitor daily and weekly data entry volumes and maintain error rates within internal quality targets.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and internal protocols when handling protected health information.
Candidate Requirements
- 0 to 1 year of experience in data entry, medical billing, or healthcare administrative support, with preference for healthcare/RCM background.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision, with a focus on minimizing errors.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with limited supervision.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, or experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, athenahealth) is advantageous.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute and proficiency with spreadsheet software like Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong written communication skills to effectively report issues and discrepancies.
Remote Work Requirements
- Personal laptop or desktop with minimum 8GB RAM, updated operating system, and antivirus software as per IT guidelines.
- Reliable high-speed internet connectivity, recommended minimum 25 Mbps.
- A private, quiet workspace suitable for managing confidential patient information.
- Compliance with company data security policies including full-disk encryption, screen locking, and avoidance of unsecured public Wi-Fi.
