Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Credit Analyst / Risk Analyst to enhance financial decision-making by performing detailed credit assessments, risk evaluations, and data analysis. This role is crucial in identifying, measuring, and monitoring financial and operational risks while delivering insights that support prudent lending, investment, and business strategy formulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine financial statements, credit reports, and business data to gauge creditworthiness and risk levels.
- Assess credit applications, lending prospects, and financial outcomes using defined risk assessment methods.
- Track credit portfolios to detect emerging threats, trends, or potential complications.
- Compile comprehensive credit and risk reports offering actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses that inform lending, investment, and strategic choices.
- Review financial ratios along with cash flow, liquidity, profitability, and debt capacity metrics.
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of credit policies, risk frameworks, and internal controls.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory standards, and industry compliance guidelines.
- Work alongside finance, operations, compliance, and business units to enhance risk management effectiveness.
- Analyze market conditions, economic indicators, and sector developments impacting risk exposure.
- Support activities such as portfolio reviews, stress testing, and scenario analyses to estimate potential financial impacts.
- Propose improvements in risk management through automation and data-driven insights.
- Keep thorough documentation and records concerning credit and risk functions.
- Present analytical insights and recommendations clearly to management and relevant parties.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at reinforcing financial controls and improving decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of credit analysis, financial statement evaluation, and risk management concepts.
- Expertise in analyzing financial ratios, cash flow, profitability, and conducting credit assessments.
- Understanding of lending practices alongside awareness of financial regulations and compliance demands.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis or reporting tools.
- Capability to interpret financial data, market trends, and economic conditions accurately.
- Strong analytical, quantitative reasoning, and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with keen attention to detail.
- Skill in preparing clear, precise, and well-organized analytical documentation.
- Superior organizational and time management skills, adept at handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate productively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with business intelligence platforms, financial systems, or data visualization tools is advantageous.
