About the Role
This recruitment is open for two permanent, full-time Community Work Officer positions. The main responsibility is to oversee offenders assigned community work tasks by sentencing or release authorities. The role ensures offenders meet their community work obligations in compliance with legislation and departmental policies, aiming to repair community harm and, where feasible, help offenders acquire new skills aiding their rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Engage effectively in both verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with community partners related to work orders.
- Manage departmental resources efficiently to meet strategic objectives.
- Apply previous experience in manual labor, light industry, or arts and crafts in daily tasks.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Must hold or be able to obtain White Card safety awareness certification before appointment.
- Hold a valid Class C manual driver’s license.
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to qualify for permanent appointments in the WA Public Sector.
