About Promentrs

Promentrs is a professional services firm delivering expert accounting and finance talent to diverse businesses. We embed senior professionals directly within client organizations, offering the expertise needed exactly when required. Our team supports clients through complex closings, rapid growth phases, and audit preparations, delivering work characterized by confidence and precision.

We seek motivated accounting experts who desire diverse challenges, autonomy, and influential roles beyond typical in-house positions. Assignments begin as 1099 independent contractor engagements, with opportunities to transition into full-time roles.

Role Overview

As a Chief Financial Officer at Promentrs, you act as the foremost financial authority for our clients, partnering with CEOs, boards, and executive teams. This role focuses on strategic financial leadership including reporting, controls, capital strategy, fundraising, and long-term planning. The assignments are high-impact, steering critical initiatives rather than routine tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial strategies and work closely with senior leadership and ownership to develop and implement growth-supportive financial plans.
  • Create and communicate comprehensive financial narratives for boards, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure integrity in financial reporting, adhering strictly to U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Manage internal controls to safeguard assets and promote scalable expansion.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closes, audit coordination, and ensure tax and regulatory compliance.
  • Direct treasury management, cash flow optimization, capital structure decisions, and investor relations.
  • Support fundraising efforts by preparing financial models, investor presentations, and due diligence materials.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement processes aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Lead or advise on transactions such as M&A, IPO readiness, restructurings, and financial system implementations.
  • Build and mentor finance and accounting teams, fostering high performance and professional growth.
  • Utilize AI tools like Claude Cowork to enhance finance workflows, automate tasks, and improve analytical productivity.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification highly desirable.
  • Preferred background includes Big 4 public accounting and over 15 years progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in senior financial leadership roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, internal controls, and accounting policies.
  • Experience as a strategic business partner to CEOs, boards, and investors across varied industries and company growth stages.
  • Proven expertise in capital markets, fundraising, M&A transactions, and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with ERP and financial planning systems, data analytics, and modern finance technology.
  • Outstanding communication skills with executive presence and trust-building capability.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and effective in dynamic or ambiguous situations.
  • Background in consulting or multi-client professional services preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset focused on vision, integrity, and results-driven leadership.

Why Join Promentrs?

  • Diverse projects spanning industries and company sizes, offering continuous learning and challenge.
  • High degree of autonomy and ownership over your work, trusted as the expert.
  • Flexible engagement models to suit work-life balance including remote, onsite, or hybrid options.
  • Initial 1099 contractor structure with a clear pathway to permanent employment for high performers.
  • Supportive firm culture providing leadership backing while working independently.
