Casual Grassroots Scout (U12-U16) – London & Kent

Role Overview

We are seeking several Casual Grassroots Scouts to operate across North, West, East or South London/Kent areas. The scouts will identify young players aged 12-16 with potential for our Academy's Youth Development Phase. This is a hands-on role where candidates will regularly watch grassroots football matches, collecting detailed player data through our Academy’s online database. Attendance at weekly feedback meetings led by Phase Coordinators is essential to discuss scouting insights.

Daily Responsibilities

• Serve as a vital part of the Academy's talent identification network, actively locating and evaluating young football talents.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge about monitored players, regularly updating and reporting on their progress in our database.
• Represent the club with pride, safeguarding its public image and adhering to professional conduct within PL/EFL Youth Development guidelines.
• Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events related to Talent Identification hosted at the Academy.
• Maintain flexibility to attend scheduled grassroots matches and relevant club meetings as coordinated by the Phase Coordinator.
• Comply with critical club policies including Safeguarding, Equality, and Health and Safety at all times.

Required Qualifications and Qualities

• FA Talent ID Level 2 certification alongside an FA Safeguarding Certificate.
• Empathy and supportiveness toward young athletes, their guardians, and grassroots organizations.
• Strong computer literacy skills, particularly in report writing and database maintenance.
• Possession of a valid driving license to independently reach events and meetings.
• Highly collaborative with a positive attitude, team spirit, and a competitive work ethic.
• A flexible schedule accommodating weekend and occasional evening commitments.

As this role involves close contact with minors, candidates must uphold exemplary conduct standards to prevent any form of harm or abuse. Continuous learning and compliance with Club and FA safeguarding training programs are mandatory.
